Mr. and Mrs. Howard and Marie (Cutler) Gawthrop of Statesboro celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on January 30 with family at Meinhardt Vineyards & Winery. The couple was married on February 6, 1965, in Flint, Michigan. They have two children, Greg Gawthrop and Justin Gawthrop, both of Statesboro; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. The couple has moved many times throughout their 50 years of marriage. They have lived in Michigan, California and Wyoming, but are currently surrounded by their family here in Statesboro. They just returned from a 50th-year anniversary celebration, where they enjoyed a three-week cruise to New Zealand and Australia.
