Mrs. Susan Lynn Fuller and Mr. Bernard Douglas Fuller Jr. of Cartersville, Ga., are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Jessica Lynn Fuller, to Charlie Bland Mathews Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Bland Mathews of Statesboro.
    The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mrs. William Griffin and the late Mr. William Griffin of Gadsden, Ala., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Douglas Fuller Sr. of Roanoke, Ala. Jessica received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Georgia Southern University in 2011, where she was also a four-year member of the Georgia Southern Tennis Team. She is currently employed at East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro as a registered nurse.
    The groom-elect is the grandson of Mrs. Charlie Joe Mathews and the late Charlie Joe Mathews of Statesboro and Earl Swicord Jr. and the late Ann Remington Swicord of St. Simons Island. Bland received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Auburn University in 2010, where he was also a member of Beta Theta Pi Fraternity. He will graduate in December from Ogeechee Technical College with a degree in Funeral Service. Bland is employed with Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home in Statesboro.
    The couple has planned to wed on Saturday, December 15, 2012, at First Baptist Church, Statesboro. Invitations will be sent.
