Mr. and Mrs. Ben Grayson (Becky) Ellis of Hopeulikit, Georgia, announce the engagement of their daughter, Tara Rebecca Ellis of Hopeulikit, to Ashley Lee of Statesboro, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Wayne Lee.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late John Paul and Beatrice Ellis and the late John Wilton and Juanita Kirby and is the great-granddaughter of the late Ben and Sarah Ellis and the late Ovid and Christine Boatwright Brown and the late Dan and Maryann Beasley and the late Robert M. and AnneJane Nevil Kirby. Tara is a 1997 graduate of Bulloch Academy and is a graduate of Georgia Southern University with a master's degree in education. She teaches at Metter Elementary School.

The groom-elect is the grandson of the late Rufus and Jeanette Lee and the late Swanson and Nancy Lanier and is the great-grandson of the late Lester and Dollie Lee and the late Stan Moore and Adabell Sparks and the Erbin and Ruby Lanier and the late Henry and Myrtis Hodges. Ashley is a 2000 graduate of Bulloch Academy and is employed as a lineman with Georgia Power.

The couple is planning to wed on June 9, 2018, at 6:30 p.m. at NeSmith Pecan Orchard, located at 771 Nessmith Road in Statesboro.
