We are pleased to announce the engagement of Kimberly Hope Carter, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter and Kimberly Deal of Statesboro and the late Mr. Duane Eric Carter of Augusta, to Brooks Aaron Oldham, son of Mr. Steve Oldham of Fayetteville and the late Mrs. Judy Todd Oldham.
    The bride-elect is a graduate of Georgia Southern University. She received a bachelor's degree in outdoor recreation with a minor in environmental sustainability. Ms. Carter is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. James and Cheryl Hamilton of Augusta, Mr. and Mrs. W.R. and Sandra Deal of Statesboro and the late Wilburn and Rosemary Carter of Forest, Virginia.
    The groom-elect is a graduate of Georgia Southern University. He received a degree in communication studies with a minor in business. Mr. Oldham is the grandson of the late Tommy and Dorothy Todd of Decatur, Alabama, and the late Fred and Mary Helen Oldham of Griffin, Georgia.
    The couple has planned to wed on August 16, 2014, at 11 a.m. at The Belle House in Statesboro. A reception will follow.
