Mr. and Mrs. Ben G. Buie Jr. of Brooklet, Ga., are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Kristin Anne Buie of Brooklet, Ga., to Benjamin Michael Purvis of Statesboro, Ga., son of Ms. Jane S. Purvis of Dublin, Ga., and Mr. and Mrs. Steven T. Purvis of Appling, Ga.
    Kristin is the granddaughter of Mrs. Alma Bragg and the late Reginald M. Bragg Jr. and Mrs. Dorothy S. Buie and the late Ben G. Buie Sr. of Brooklet, Ga. Kristin is a 1998 graduate of Southeast Bulloch High School and 2007 graduate of Georgia Southern University, with a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education and a minor in Child and Family Development. She holds a Master's degree in Elementary Reading and Math. She is currently employed as a prekindergarten teacher at Bulloch Academy.
    Ben is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. James A. Stewart of Decatur, Ga., and the late Mr. and Mrs. William D. Purvis of Manchester, Ga. Ben is a 1997 graduate of Lakeside High School and a 2003 graduate of Georgia Southern University with a Bachelor's, degree in Criminal Justice. He was a member of the Eta Zeta chapter of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. He is currently employed as a detective at the Statesboro Police Department.
    The wedding is planned for Saturday, November 19th, at 5 p.m. at the Brooklet United Methodist Church.
