Dr. Claire Gibbons Smith and Stefan Christopher Reddick were united in marriage on October 20, 2007, in Dallas, Texas, at Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church. Dr. Blair R. Monie officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Bronson Smith of Dallas. She is the granddaughter of Dr. and Mrs. David English Smith Jr. of Galveston, Texas, and of Mrs. Patrick Gibbons and the late Mr. Patrick Birmingham Gibbons III of Dallas.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gregory Andrew Drexel of Fort Worth and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Reid Reddick of Homerville, Ga. He is the grandson of Mrs. Carl Reid Reddick and the late Mr. Carl Reid Reddick of Statesboro and Mrs. Albert Monroe Braswell Jr. and the late Mr. Carroll Franklin Farr of Statesboro.
For her dress, the bride wore an A-line, strapless ivory gown. The gown featured thin bands of organza spaced evenly through the length of the chapel train. She wore a sash of pale blue satin tied in a bow around her waist, and a fingertip-length veil of silk tulle edged with satin ribbon mirroring the organza bands of the dress.
Attending the bride were matron of honor Lauren Cullum and bridesmaids Amanda Gibbons Addison, cousin of the bride; Carrie Elizabeth Sopata, Jaime Marie Eaglin, Caroline Bunker Huddleston and Lyndsay Beal Lyle. The junior bridesmaids were Katherine Elizabeth Dean and Mary Rebecca Dean, also cousins of the bride. The house party included Erin Leigh Young and Konstantina Margaret Harbilas. Attending the groom were best man Barry Orlen Parker II and groomsmen Andrew Carroll Drexel, brother of the groom; Bronson Sellers Smith, brother of the bride; George Ryan Marvin, John Ryan Brown, Shawn Michael Flanery, David Neal Wedeberg and James Butler Looney. The ushers were Matthew Drew Talley and Robert Douglas Anderson.
The bride graduated from Highland Park High School in 1999 with highest honors. She earned a Bachelor of Science from Washington and Lee University in 2003 and an MD from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in 2007. While at W&L, she was active in Kappa Delta sorority and the Panhellenic Council, and graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa. She was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha at UT Southwestern. She is currently a first year resident in internal medicine at Baylor University Medical Center and will start her three-year residency in dermatology at Texas Tech Health Sciences Center in Lubbock, Texas, in July.
The groom graduated from Western Hills High School in Fort Worth in 1993. He earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Texas Christian University in 1997. He has pursued a successful career in graphic design, serving as sponsorship chair and president of the American Institute of Graphic Arts, Dallas Chapter from 2003-2006. He is currently employed at AvreaFoster design firm in Dallas.
For their honeymoon, the couple spent a week in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. They currently reside in Dallas and are looking forward to moving to Lubbock, Texas, in July 2008.
