Mr. H.P. “Chick” Jones Jr. of Statesboro is pleased to announce the forthcoming marriage of his daughter, Mary Beth, to David Wendel Foerster Jr. of Atlanta.
Beth is the daughter of the late Edna Mae Ziegler Jones and is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. H.P. (Mary Beth Smith) Jones Sr. and the late Mr. and Mrs. Samuel B. (Edna Woods) Ziegler, all of Statesboro. Beth graduated from Statesboro High School and the University of Georgia, where she was a member of Phi Mu sorority. She has a 30-year career with the federal government in Washington, D.C., and Atlanta. She currently serves in the senior executive service as the director of Electronic Products and Services for the Internal Revenue Service. She was a member of the Junior League of Atlanta for many years.
David is the son of David W. Foerster and the late Estelle Jones Williams. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert O. Foerster and the late Mr. and Mrs. William D. Jones Jr., all of Jacksonville, Fla. David graduated from the Woodberry Forest School, attended Davidson College and graduated with honors from the University of Florida. After establishing the Addictive Disease Resource Center as a ministry of the Episcopal Diocese of Atlanta, he founded and served as executive director of The Resource Center, a not-for-profit organization, for 17 years. He recently retired from the practice of crisis mediation and addictive disease consultation as president of The Foerster Group. He is a Paul Harris Fellow and was active in Rotary International throughout his career. He currently serves as vice chair of the Covenant Community’s Board of Directors and is a member of the Advisory Board of The Cummer Museum of Art and Gardens.
After an intimate wedding at All Saints’ Episcopal Church in Atlanta, where they are both long-standing members, on November 22nd, the couple will travel to Costa Rica. They will reside in Atlanta.
