    Tracey Shanese Hughes and Terrence Ramon Head were united in marriage at three o’clock in the afternoon on Saturday, March 8, 2008. The double ring ceremony took place at the Charleston Marriott in Historic Charleston, S.C. Minister Michael Griggs of Moncks Corner, S.C., officiated.
    The bride is the daughter of Mattie and Joseph “Cecil” Hughes and is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jake Taylor of Statesboro and Mr. and Mrs. James Hughes of Albany, Ga.
    The groom is the son of Sheila and Errol Moore of Mt. Pleasant, S.C., and is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Leon Moore of Charleston, S.C., and Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Head of Atlanta.
    Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a formal strapless gown with a beaded lace bodice with a scallop edge, voluminous organza pick-up skirt and chapel train. During the reception, the bride changed into a floral print, satin/chiffon burnout halter gown with beaded empire band and sweep train. She carried a hand-tied bouquet of dark red roses.
    Twala Timmons of Durham, N.C., sister of the bride, served as matron of honor. Tamika Felder of Upper Marlboro, Md., served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Melissa Bonner of Cary, N.C., Shreta Coleman of Upper Marlboro, Md., Sharon Fletcher of Charleston, S.C., Daphne Jackson of Hinesville, Demetrice King of Columbia, S.C., and Kisha Tremble of Statesboro.
    The attendants wore satin claret strapless gowns with a dropped waistline and lace-up back and carried hand-tied bouquets of dark red and cream roses.
    Ve’lincia Kearse, niece of the groom, and Aamori Timmons, niece of the bride, served as flower girls. They wore ivory taffeta gowns with pick-up skirts, beaded motif details and spaghetti straps.
    Kevin Henderson of Fort Mill, S.C., served as best man. The groomsmen were Eric Chisolm of Arlington, Va., Theron Gore of Elizabeth City, N.C., Carlos Grant of Rock Hill, S.C., Eddie Lesane of Charleston, S.C., Ogunna Njkou of Herndon, Va., Chico Walker of Charleston, S.C., and Darren Barber of Woodbridge, Va. Christian Kearse, nephew of the groom, served as the ring bearer.
    Music was provided by the Rev. William Patterson of Statesboro. Soloists were Marcus Cone of Atlanta, Timothy Bradley of Charlotte, N.C., and the Rev. and Mrs. Frankie Owens Sr. of Statesboro.
    Guests were escorted by ushers LeRoy Jones Jr. of Statesboro, brother of the bride; Devon Kearse of Waverly Hall, Ga., brother-in-law of the groom; David Tipton of Pittsburgh, Pa., Timothy Bradley and Kevin Haynes of Grande Prairie, Texas. LeRoy Jones III of Savannah, nephew of the bride; and Markel Head of Waverly Hall, Ga., nephew of the groom, served as junior ushers.
    Guests were greeted by sorority sisters of the bride: Stephanie Williams, Stephanie Hawkins, Debra Dorsey, Shani Foy-Watson and Luaskya Nonon, all of Durham, N.C. Bosnia Williams of Statesboro, cousin of the bride; and Alexis Pointer, Avontee Pointer and Shantel Mitchell, cousins of the groom, all of Atlanta, served as junior hostesses.
    The bride and groom enjoyed a horse and carriage ride prior to the reception and their guests enjoyed a pre-reception hour with seafood hors d’oeuvres and entertainment by a Touch of Class Band of Charleston. Following the formal sit-down dinner, the guests danced the night away with music provided by DJ Silverback of AWE Entertainment of Charleston.
    The wedding weekend began with a “Taste of Charleston” rehearsal dinner, hosted by the bride and groom for the wedding party, and a Black and Red Welcome party, hosted by the parents of the groom for the wedding party and all out-of-town guests, at the Old Exchange Building in downtown Charleston, on the eve of the wedding day.
