Mr. & Mrs. Patrick G. Blanchard Jr.
    Gretchen Melissa Green and Patrick G. Blanchard Jr., both of Augusta, were united in marriage at 6 p.m., Saturday, August 12, 2006, at Sacred Heart Cultural Center in Augusta. Dr. Jack L. Snellgrove and the Rev. Dr. Sidney Austin Gates Jr. officiated.
    Gretchen is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Michael Green of Suwanee, Ga. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Lee Williams of Tucker, Ga., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Jack Green of Lilburn, Ga. A graduate of Meadowcreek High School in Atlanta, she is a graduate of Piedmont College with a bachelor of science in biology and is a graduate of the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta with a bachelor of science in dental hygiene. She is currently enrolled at the Medical College of Georgia and will graduate from the School of Dentistry next May. She plans to practice in Augusta as a dentist.
    Patrick is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Patrick G. Blanchard of Augusta. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Brannen Banks of Statesboro and Mildred Pollard Blanchard and the late John Pierce Blanchard of Appling, Ga. He is a graduate of The Academy of Richmond County Comprehensive High School in Augusta and attended Augusta State University. He is employed as a professional musician and is the owner of Riverside Music in Augusta.
    Given in marriage by her father, Gretchen chose her sister, Samantha Michelle Green of Suwanee, to serve as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Kelly Marie Karius of Augusta, Candice Leigh Kendall of Atlanta, Beth Donahue Pombo of Winston-Salem, N.C., Lori Kaye Reynierson of Grovetown, Ga., Rachel Beth Rogers of Raleigh, N.C., and Mary Blanchard Rayburn of Augusta, sister-in-law of the bride.
    Patrick chose his father, Patrick G. Blanchard, to serve as best man. Groomsmen were Jonathan Carter Blanchard of Grovetown, cousin of the groom; Benjamin Pascal Casella of Birmingham, Ala., Andrew Blaine Farley of Lexington, S.C., Adam Forrest Hatfield of Virginia Beach, Va., John Carl Kolbeck of North Augusta, S.C., and Matthew David Stocks of Woodstock, Ga. Ushers were William Stuart Rayburn of Augusta, brother-in-law of the groom; and James Pedrick Jones of North Augusta, S.C.
    Music was provided by James Edward Nord, organist; Lee Menefee, soloist; and Fabio Henry Mann, trumpet.
    Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Augusta Country Club.
    The newlyweds honeymooned in St. Lucia and are residing in Augusta.
