    Margaret Elizabeth Gay and Joseph Roswell Evans Jr. were united in marriage at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 19, 2008, at Lovely Lane Chapel in St. Simons Island. Dr. Rodger Murchison officiated.
    Meg is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David M. Gay of Sylvania. She is the granddaughter of Mr. J. Yates Smith of New Ellenton, S.C., and Ms. Margaret K. Smith of North Augusta, S.C., and Mrs. Math J. Gay and the late Mr. Math. J. Gay of Sylvania. She is a graduate of Mercer University, where she earned a Bachelor of Business Administration. While there, she was also a member of Alpha Delta Pi.
    Ross is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph R. Evans Sr. of Augusta. He is the grandson of the late Dr. and Mrs. Al Sutton and the late Mr. and Mrs. William E. Evans Sr., all of Augusta. He is a graduate of Mercer University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering. While there, he was also a member of Pi Kappa Phi.
    Given in marriage by her father, Meg chose her friend, Sharalyn Klein of Marietta, to serve as her maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Jennifer Carter of Atlanta, Brittany Cook of Stuart, Fla., Rachel Murchison of Martinez, Ga., all friends of the bride; Madeline Evans of Augusta, sister of the groom; and Leah Sutton of Augusta, cousin of the groom.
    Ross chose his father, Joseph R. Evans Sr. of Augusta, to serve as his best man. Groomsmen were Bryan Barnett of Washington Ga., Mitchell Murchison of Augusta, Jason Small of Pooler and Bobby VanBrackle Jr. of Alpharetta, all friends of the groom; and Matt Gay of Sylvania, brother of the bride.
    Following the ceremony, a reception was held on the grounds at Epworth-By-The-Sea.
    The newlyweds honeymooned in Charleston, S.C., and reside in Augusta.
