     Lindsay Claire Dowd and Elmer Roy Miller were united in marriage on Saturday, October 6, 2007, at 6 o’clock in the evening at Meldrim Woods Plantation in Stilson. The double-ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. Andy Brownley of Alamo, Ga.
    The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Dowd of Mt. Pleasant, N.C., and Ms. Terry Barnard of Pembroke. She is the granddaughter of Vergie Barnard of Pembroke and the late Calvin Barnard and the late Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Dowd Sr. Lindsay is a 2004 graduate of Georgia Southern University and is employed with the Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning as a child care consultant.
    The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Tony Miller of Stilson. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Buie Miller of Stilson, Lois Nalley of Stilson and the late Emmett Nalley. Elmer is a 2007 graduate of Georgia Southern University and is employed as a project engineer with R.B. Baker Construction, Inc.
    Amber Dowd of Valdosta, Ga., sister of the bride, served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Katie Miller Thompson of Stilson, sister of the groom; Renee Dailey Hernandez of Savannah and Wendy Sims of Black Creek, Ga.
    Honorary bridesmaids were Candice Saxon Miller of Stilson, aunt of the groom; Jessica Akins Hood of Stilson, Dana Hood Haas of Stilson and Shae Cowart McDaniel of Ellabell. Taylor Miller, cousin of the groom, was the flower girl.
    The groom chose his father, Tony Miller, to serve as best man. Groomsmen were Buie Miller, grandfather of the groom; Dexter Miller, brother of the groom; and Trey Miller, cousin of the groom, all of Stilson.
    Ushers were Timothy Miller, uncle of the groom; Billy Haas and Michael Hood, all of Stilson; and Charles McDaniel of Ellabell.
    Music for the ceremony, a duo of violin and viola, was provided by Yvonne Johnson and Lizhou Liu of Savannah. Guests were greeted by Monique Shuman of Pembroke and Tiffany Miller Brown of Jacksonville, Fla., aunt of the groom.
    Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Plantation.
    The couple honeymooned in San Francisco and now resides in Stilson.
