Tara is the daughter of Shari R. and Charles Richard "Rick" Barr Jr. of Statesboro and is the granddaughter of Bettie B. and Marion H Robbins Jr. of Statesboro and the late Betty Grace Hodges Barr and Charles Richard "Dick" Barr Sr. of Statesboro.
John is the son of William "Bill" Stanfield and the late Nancy Stanfield of Cobbtown, Ga.
The ceremony was held on October 26, 2008, at six o'clock in the evening at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Statesboro. The Rev. Jane Page officiated.
The bride, escorted by her father, was attended by matron of honor Tava Glisson Chiba, sister of the bride; bridesmaid Andrea Rich, sister-in-law of the groom; and flower girl Grace Marie Stanfield, daughter of the bride and groom.
Wayne Kersey, friend of the groom, served as best man. Jimmy Rich, brother of the groom, served as groomsman and John Paul Stanfield Jr., son of the bride and groom, served as ring bearer.
Ushers for the ceremony were Kyle Lawrence, nephew of the groom; and Tyler Smith, cousin of the bride. Kris Robbins Mikell, aunt of the bride, directed the ceremony.
Following the ceremony, a low country boil wedding supper was hosted by the bride's parents at their home.
