Community Review by Pat Homer
The Flames to Kidsville

We’ve had a really busy week on the Web site. We cheered on the East Georgia Flames, a local traveling baseball team that won a berth in the USSSA World Series in Kingsport, Tenn. Our students in London brought us up-to-date on their experiences and thoughts from abroad. We contemplated stay-at-home moms vs. working moms and nonprofit vs. for-profit hospice organizations. Gawalkman posted an amusing way to bring an end to the war in Iraq.
The growth on the Web is creating some exciting possibilities for our community. Our friends and neighbors are posting more and more community news. The Statesboro Noon Lions are posting their news. The Friends of the Library are keeping us up-to-date on their activities. Lois Roberts of NAMI Statesboro offered us all a great way to get involved with supporting mental health issues. Go online to the Blogspace and check it all out.
This exciting growth has allowed us to entice Jill Edelman to come back to fill the position of Community News Sales Manager. A Georgia native, Jill came back to Georgia in October of 2003. She and her family discovered Statesboro after traveling around middle and southern Georgia looking for a place to call home after living in Arkansas for six years. She is looking forward to working with our local businesses once again and encourages you to watch for her blogs next week.

Football Fans

Football season is only a month and a week away. We have some special fun planned on our Web site for all our football fans. It will include all your favorite college teams. Watch the Web site and this page for details.

Truman and Bulloch Pediatrics are both winners — Truman finally has a medallion to wear to all of his appearances, and Bulloch Pediatrics is the sole sponsor for Truman for the upcoming year.
Did you know that you can visit Kidsville on our Web site? Just click on Kidsville at the top of the homepage to hear the Truman song, play games, do puzzles and even drop Truman an e-mail. Kidsville is a great place to have fun!
