CCAT students receive lesson in white oak basket making

Brian Renko and Randy Cannon of Milledgeville demonstrated the art and skill of splitting billlets of white oak used for basket making for students from the Charter Conservatory for the Arts and Technology (CCAT) at the Averitt Center on Friday.

Renko and Cannon came to Statesboro to open an exhibit in the Main Gallery of the Averitt Center. "White Oak Baskets: The Tradition Continues" opened Friday and will be on display through March 5.
