Fishing rodeo lures young anglers

Austin Slater kicks back and relaxes while waiting on a fish to bite during the Kids Fishing Rodeo.

The 2014 Bulloch Bass Club Youth Fishing Tournament drew families to the pond at Mill Creek Regional Park on Saturday, May 31.
This is the only day fishing is allowed at the pond. The popular event, also known as the Kids Fishing Rodeo, is the club’s biggest event of the year.
Children ages 5 to 15 can participate. Anyone who reeled in a tagged fish received $50, and prizes were given for the biggest fish and best rod-and-reel combinations.  Every child who participated received a prize of some kind.
