Deen Day Smith honorees gather for annual coffee
W 040313 DEEN DAY COFFEE 08
Statesboro Herald Humanitarian of the Year Trish Tootle finds a quiet spot to chat with Deen Day Smith Service to Mankind Awards winner Ray Williams.
Following Tuesday evening's 25th Annual Deen Day Smith Service to Mankind Awards gala at Georgia Southern University's Nessmith-Lane Conference Center, this year's award recipients as well as past recipients enjoyed socializing at a coffee held in their honor at Pittman Park United Methodist Church Wednesday morning. Deen Day Smith Service to Mankind Awards honor those community members who go above and beyond in serving others, with no thought of or desire for personal gain. Award recipients, nominated by peers in the community, historically reflect a spirit of giving and compassion and have made a differences in the lives of the less fortunate; have gone out of their way to give of their time, effort and otherwise to charitable causes; and have been an asset and blessing to those in need.
