Ozell and Lillie Lawrence of Portal, Georgia, celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary on April 13. The couple married April 13, 1957. They have five children: Joyce and Anthony Simmons, Jessie and Margie Lawrence and Jerry and Cindy Lawrence, all of Statesboro; Rozell and Jacquelyn Lawrence, and Connie Lawrence, all of Portal. The couple’s adopted children are Ellis Marcell and Denise Strobridge of Swainsboro, and they have 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. The couple's children are thankful to God for them being able to celebrate 61 years of marriage. A family that prays together stays together.
