Mr. and Mrs. Darron Burnette of Statesboro are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Caroline Brooke, to Jay Wallo, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Wallo.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Cathy Dixon of Statesboro and the late Elgerine Dixon, as well as the late Mr. and Mrs. Bob Burnette of Lilburn. Caroline is a 2014 honor graduate of Bulloch Academy and attended Georgia Southern University, where she was a member of Phi Mu Sorority. She graduated from Georgia Southern University in 2018 with a Bachelor of Science in public relations. She is employed by Occupied Renovations in Atlanta, Georgia.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Susan Patterson and the late David Patterson of Dunwoody, Georgia, as well as Mary Ann Polacky and Joseph Polacky Sr. of Dunwoody and the late William Wallo Sr. of Dallas, Pennsylvania. Jay is a 2014 graduate of Hebron Christian Academy. He attended Georgia Southern University, where he was a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. He graduated in 2018 with a Bachelor of Science in construction management and is employed by Batson-Cook Construction in Atlanta.

The couple plans to wed on Oct. 5, 2019, in Atlanta.
