With cooking and baking as her favorite hobbies, Bible Baptist Christian Academy valedictorian Anna Jones expects to focus on the healthier aspects of eating in the future.
The 17-year-old hopes to attend Georgia Southern University in the fall and take classes that will help her accomplish her dream of being a dietician.
Healthy eating is important, but life always needs something sweet, and Jones’ favorite thing to make is brownies, she said.
Jones transferred from Statesboro High School in her junior year, coming to Bible Baptist to complete her education. Skilled in subjects she enjoys — math and history — she admitted, “I’m not a real fan of science.” She achieved the status of class valedictorian by having a grade point average of 3.4.
Jones and her family have lived in Statesboro for eight years, having moved from Savannah. Her parents, John and Linda Jones, also have an adult son, Wesley Jones.
Anna enjoys movies, shopping and “hanging with friends” in her spare time, and her favorite sport is soccer. “I also like to clean and be organized, “she said.
After taking her final tests in June, she hopes to find a job and later attend GSU.
