A stompin' good time
Meinhardt Vineyards hosts annual Grape Stomp Festival
W 091413 GRAPE STOMP 04
Visitors enjoy the sights, sounds and samples during the Grape Stomp Festival Saturday at Meinhardt Vineyards & Winery. The annual event invites attendees to pound fresh grapes with their bare feet to experience an age-old tradition.

Between 300 and 400 people visited Meinhardt Vineyards & Winery Saturday to enjoy its annual Grape Stomp Festival. Many bared their feet to pound grapes into juice the ancient way. Most sampled wine and cheese, and all were treated to live music from local classic-rock band PB&J.
Of course, a powered wine press crushes grapes for the real wine production. But the stomp is symbolic of a business that is as much about people and occasions as it is about grapes.
