Rain suspends SHS game
SHS baseball
Wayne County catcher Caleb Martin, left, reaches over Statesboro High's Jordan Finch to snare a chopper out of the air and gets the tag during the fourth inning Tuesday.
A nip-and-tuck Region 3-AAAA semifinal got a rude interruption from Mother Nature as lightning and rain postponed Tuesday's game between Statesboro and Wayne County at Mill Creek Regional Park. The game was tied at 1-1 with the Blue Devils batting in the bottom of the fifth inning. Since five full innings were not completed, the game could not be suspended and picked up at a later time.
