    Bulloch Academy's girls soccer team beat Trinity Christian, 2-1 in overtime (3-2 in penalty kicks) on Thursday.
    Haley Burke scored the Lady Gators' only goal in regulation, which ended tied at 1.
    Burke, Ashley Burke and Pate Lomax each scored during penalty kicks to give BA the win.

Screven Co. tennis beats Swainsboro
    SWAINSBORO — Screven County High School's girls and boys tennis teams defeated Swainsboro in Region 3AA-A matches Thursday.
    The Lady Gamecocks (9-1, 2-0), ranked No. 3 in the state, won, 4-1, with victories from Lovey Sheppard, 6-1, 6-1; Mallorie Boswell, 6-1, 6-1; Haley Mock and Jancy Durrence, 6-3, 6-0; and Pam Wooten and Kari Lane, 6-1, 6-1.
    Screven County's boys (4-6, 2-0) won, 3-2, with victories from Daniel Weaver, 6-1, 6-7 (6), 6-0; Sawyer Newton and Ryan Bazemore, 6-2, 7-5; and Clay Kirkland and Zachary Weaver, 6-2, 7-5.
    Screven County will play host to Southeast Bulloch on Tuesday.

SEB girls win track and field meet
    SYLVANIA — Southeast Bulloch High School's girls track and field team won a six-team meet at Screven County High School on Thursday.
    SEB had 145 points. Effingham County (95) was second. Richmond Hill (73) and Swainsboro (73) tied for third. Screven County (41) was fifth. Jenkins County (18) was sixth.
    SEB's Breanna Gates won the long jump (17 feet, 2 3/4 inches), 100-meter run (12.10 seconds) and 200-meter run (26.0). Philicia Batton won the high jump (5 feet, 2 inches), the 100-meter hurdles (16.56) and was second in the 300-meter hurdles (48.22). Jasmine Roberts won the triple jump with a school-record distance of 36 feet, 8 1/2 inches. Zyeria Lockhart was second in the shot (32 feet, 1 inch).
    SEB's 4-x100-meter relay team (Katie Nevil, Roberts, Nira Byrd and Gates) won (50.25), and the same group won the 4x400-meter relay (4:30.19).
    SEB's boys placed fifth. Preston Smith won the triple jump (41 feet, 6 inches). Jamal Johnson won the discus (142 feet, 9 1/4 inches).
    SEB will host the Plankenhorn Invitational at 4 p.m. on March 23 at Statesboro High School.

Statesboro girls beat Lakeside at soccer
    Tori Thompson scored four goals, and Taylor Sarratt scored a goal, to lead Statesboro High School's girls soccer team to a 5-1 victory over Lakeside in a Region 2B-AAAA game Thursday.
    The Lady Blue Devils (4-2, 3-2) beat Lakeside for the first time in at least eight years. Makayla Patterson, Regan Thomas and Shanquetta Morgan each assisted on goals. Patterson, the goalkeeper, made 10 saves.
