Prep roundup: BA girls beat Frederica at soccer

    Bulloch Academy's girls soccer team defeated Frederica Academy, 5-4, in a non-region game Tuesday at Bulloch Academy.
    The Lady Gators (8-7) were led by Maddie Marsh, who scored two goals and an assist.
    BA's Annsley Lomax, Cate Williams and Claire Hiller each scored a goal. Williams had two assists and Ashley Burke assisted on a goal. Goalkeeper Page Spence made 10 saves for Bulloch Academy, which will play host to Trinity Christian at 5 p.m. Thursday.

BA boys lose to Frederica at soccer
    Bulloch Academy's boys soccer team lost, 8-1, to Frederica Academy in a non-region game Tuesday at Bulloch Academy.
    John Paul Padilla scored Bulloch Academy's goal unassisted. Goalkeeper Mitchell Smith made 20 saves for the Gators (5-8), who will play host to Trinity Christian in a region game at 7 p.m. Thursday.
   
SHS boys, girls beat Metter at golf
    Statesboro High School's boys and girls golf teams defeated Metter on Tuesday at Forest Height Country Club.
    The Blue Devils shot 142 and the Tigers shot 184. Statesboro's Jordan Herrington was first overall, shooting a 5-under-par 31. Also for the Blue Devils, Cameron Shiels shot 36, Jonathan Bachant shot 37, Trevor Dailey shot 38, Hunter Finch shot 40 and Clay Cribbs shot 41.
    The Lady Blue Devils shot 101 and The Lady Tigers shot 108. Statesboro was led by Sara Jane Bowers, who shot 1-over-par 37 to win. Also for the Lady Blue Devils, Julie Lee shot 64 and Jayla Johnson shot 66.
   
SEB beats Screven County at baseball
    SYLVANIA — Southeast Bulloch High School's baseball team beat Screven County, 6-2,  on Tuesday to claim the No. 1 seed in the Region 3AA-A subregion by virtue of two wins over Screven County.
    SEB will host Dublin in a doubleheader Saturday at a time to be determined. Screven County will host East Laurens in a doubleheader at 1p.m. Saturday. The "if" game for each team will be in Brooklet and Sylvania on Monday if necessary.
    SEB (12-8 overall, 6-2 Region 3AA-A) was led by J.D. Smith, who pitched a complete game and struck out eight. Tyler Brown and Eli Page each had two RBIs. Tyler Epps and Seth Morgan each had an RBI.
    Screven County's Blake Evans pitched a complete game and struck out six while allowing two earned runs. Dawson Oglesby had two hits. Evans and Cameron Martin each had one hit and one RBI.
