Bulloch Academy beats Westminster at baseball
BAcolor

Bulloch Academy took advantage of Westminster errors and combined it with some timely hitting to get a 5-3 victory over the visiting Wildcats in GISA Region 4-AAA baseball action Friday.
The Gators (5-1, 2-0) were down, 2-0, early but scored in the third to cut the lead in half. Smith Reeves reached on an error, took second on a Bailey Smith flyout and went to third on another error when Chris Young blasted a hot shot to the Wildcat shortstop. Bailey Smith drove a single to left field to score the freshman.
BA took the lead in the bottom of the third, scoring three on two hits and one big Westminster error. In the inning, Reeves and Forrest Spence singled, Erick Renew, Hunter Jacobs and Waters drew walks and Young reached on an error by the Wildcat second baseman.
Bulloch added one more run in the fifth for a 5-2 lead when Clayton Rogers singled to center and scored on Renew's single to center.
Young was the winning pitcher, while Joshua Bishop got the save. Young went six innings, giving up two runs on two hits while striking out five, walking five and hitting one batter. Bishop gave up one run on no hits and one walk.
Bulloch travels to Milledgeville on Tuesday to face region foe John Milledge Academy.
