With ten players from last season’s region championship team departed, this figured to be a rebuilding year for Claxton. Thanks to the efforts of players like junior guard Kelsey Wilkerson, the Tigers are right back atop the Region 3-A standings in the final days of regular season play. Last Saturday, Wilkerson tied teammate LeBron Glover with 17 points to lead all other scorers in Claxton’s cross-region win against rival Portal.
