The Metter cheerleading squad capped an impressive year last weekend as the Lady Tigers notched a 6th place finish at the GHSA Class A state competition in Columbus. Metter won its region and advanced to the state competition, where the top 16 squads from each classification squared off for the title. The Tigers worked on their routine since June and showed their skills throughout the season, taking home first place finishes at the West Laurens competition, Battle at Eagle Creek and Battle of the Boro.
