Statesboro's boys basketball team got back to .500 with a 67-42 road win over Lakeside-Evans Tuesday night.
The Blue Devils (9-9) were never threatened, leading 29-17 at halftime before cruising ot the win. They were led by Justin Houston's 26 points; Patrick Parker added 14.
In girls' action, the Lady Blue Devils (10-8, 1-2) downed Lakeside 56-41.
Monnette Bennett led SHS with 18 points, while Gwen Jones chipped in with 10.
Both Statesboro teams return to the court Friday when they host Evans. The girls' game tips off at 6:30 p.m.

Portal's boys basketball team had 10 different players score Tuesday night en route to a 76-33 drubbing of Metter.
The Panthers (12-4) were led by Mario Farris' 18 points. Fred Williams tallied 16.
In junior varsity action, Portal topped the Tigers, 49-24. Corey Pierce had 14 points in the win.
The PHS varsity teams returns to action Friday night for a game at Bryan County. The girls tipoff at 6 p.m.
