REGISTER, Ga. -- Mr. Henry L. Smith, age 69, passed into rest Saturday, February 20, 2021, at the East Georgia Regional Medical Center. He was born in Dublin, Georgia, to the late Nelson Smith Sr. and Geannie Jaudon Smith.
    He received his formal education in the Laurens County School System and was a graduate of Millville High School class of 1969.
    Mr. Smith served his country in the United States Air Force and served during the Vietnam conflict. He was a member of the Greater Strawberry A.M.E. Church and retired from the U.S. Postal Service.
    Mr. Smith leaves his memories to be cherished by: his wife, Kate Oglesby Smith, Register, Ga.; daughters, Latosha (Billy) Mosley, Statesboro, Ga.; Katie Sharnice Smith, Register, Ga.; Kimber (Gabe) Wright, and Leekira Jaudon Smith, both of Atlanta, Ga.; sons, Andre (Sharon) Smith, Atlanta, Ga.; Kevin P. (Tammy) Oglesby and Brian Oglesby; sisters, Gennie Stevens, Dublin, Ga.; Willie Mae Smith, Gainesville, Ga.; Pamela Tucker, Dublin, Ga. brothers, Norman (Towynne) Tucker, Eastman Ga.; John Tucker, Dublin Ga.; 16 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, a host of other relatives and friends.
    A walk-through viewing will be held for Mr. Smith Saturday, February 27, 2021, at Hill’s Mortuary, Inc. from the hours of 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
    The graveside funeral service and burial will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, February 28, 2021, at the Greater Strawberry A.M.E. Church, 630 Country Club Road, Dublin, GA 31321 with the pastor, the Rev. Wilbur Simmons, presiding, and the Rev. Karl Smith, eulogist.
    Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, social-distancing will be enforced at the funeral home and graveside services. We ask that you adhere to all CDC guidelines.
    Final rites have been entrusted to Hill's Mortuary, Inc.
