Mother Eva Mae Byrd Magny
STATESBORO, Ga. -- Mother Eva Mae Byrd Magny, age 76, passed into rest Monday evening, February 8, 2021, at the East Georgia Regional Medical Center.
    The Bulloch County native was the daughter of the late Gary and Eddie Mae Allen Byrd. She received her formal education in the Bulloch County School System and was a graduate of the William James High School class of 1965.
    At an early age, she accepted Christ and was baptized at the St. Paul Baptist Church, Register, Georgia. Upon graduation, she moved to Newark, N.J., and became an active member of the Newark Gospel Tabernacle Church.
    Eva Mae Byrd Magny was retired from the Clara Maass Hospital of Bellville, N.J. Upon her retirement, she returned to Savannah, Georgia, and became a faithful member of the New Holy Ground Tabernacle Deliverance Church, where she served as church mother and chief intercessor.
    In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Antwan Magny; siblings, Gary Byrd Jr., Overseer Levell Byrd Jones and Dorothine Byrd.
    She leaves to cherish her memories: two sons, Don (Mary) Byrd, Statesboro, Ga.; and Derrick (Colita) Byrd, Saddle Brook, N.J.; three sisters, Eddie Bea (Winslow) McCullough, Sylvania, Ga.; Evangelist Della (Dea. Percil) Moye, Pooler, Ga.; and Apostle Dr. Cheristerlyn Brooks, Statesboro, Ga.; five sons, David (Mattie) Byrd, Statesboro, Ga.; Pastor Levon (Linda) Byrd, Beaufort, S.C.; Calvin Byrd Statesboro, Ga.; Pastor Eddie (Pastor Linda) Byrd, Metter, Ga.; and Connell Byrd, Statesboro, Ga.; a brother-in-law, Dea. Douglas Jones, Statesboro, Ga.; an aunt, Ida Wigfall, South Bend, Ind.; an uncle, Sewonie Mincey, South Bend, Ind.; six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, a host of other relatives and friends.
    A walk-through viewing for Mother Magny will be held Friday afternoon, February 19, 2021, from the hours of 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Hill’s Mortuary, Inc.
    The graveside service and burial will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, February 20, 2021, at the Bulloch Memorial Gardens with Apostle Cheristerlyn Brooks officiating.
    There will be no viewing at the grave site.
    Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, social-distancing will be enforced at the funeral home and graveside services. We ask that you adhere to all CDC guidelines.
    Final rites have been entrusted to Hill's Mortuary, Inc.
