SYLVANIA – James Merrill “Jimmy” Pollack, age 76, of Sylvania, and husband of Gail Freeman Pollack, passed away on Wednesday afternoon, February 9, 2022, at his home.
Jimmy was born January 6, 1946, in Perry, Georgia, to the late John Merrill Pollack and the late Martine Yaughn.
He was a deacon of Wades Baptist Church and a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
He loved the Lord and singing His praises.
Jimmy loved his family, photography and golf.
In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by his brother, David Pollack.
Survivors include his loving wife, Gail Pollack; son, Joseph Peatross; daughters and sons-in-law, Laurie and Joe Mallard and Lisa and Mike Cox; sisters and brother-in-law, Patricia Pollack, Sharon and Craig Armell; grandchildren, Ridge Mallard, Rachel Laurin Peatross, Kathryn Cox, Jaylee Mallard, Lindsay Peatross, Kodie Mallard, John Davis Cox and Jenna Cox; four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will take place Saturday, February 12, 2022, from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Wades Baptist Church.
The funeral service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Wades Baptist Church with Pastor Terry B. Joyner officiating. Burial, with full military honors, will follow at Double Heads Baptist Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers: Kodie Mallard, John Davis Cox, Ridge Mallard, Mike Cox, Joe Mallard, Jay Derriso.
Honorary pallbearers: Danny Anderson, Benny Jeffers, Jerome Dent, Carlton Robbins, Lynn Derriso.
