Mrs. Almanette Lampson

STATESBORO, Ga. -- Mrs. Almanette Lampson passed into rest Wednesday, June 20, 2018, at the East Georgia Regional Medical Center, Statesboro, Ga. The Bulloch County native was the daughter of the late Herbert and Beatrice Riggs. She received her education in the public school system of Bulloch County and was a graduate of Statesboro High and Industrial High School.
    Mrs. Lampson was a graduate of Savannah State College and also attended Myers Beauty School. Later, she attended the Swainsboro Technical College and became a licensed practical nurse. Mrs. Almanette Lampson was a former employee of Brown's Nursing home and Georgia Grace Memorial Care Home. She was also a private duty nurse for several families before retiring.
    She was a dedicated member of the Greater Bethel A.M.E. Church.
    She leaves to cherish her memories: her children, Desiree Franklin, Sidney (Connie) Alston and Courtney Alston, all of Statesboro, Ga.; and Avatara Qtub, Detroit, Mich; a sister, Glarushia Blakley, Atlanta, Ga.; a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
    Family visitation will be held Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. in the chapel of Hill's Mortuary, Inc.
    The remains will lie in state at the church on the day of the service from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour.
    The funeral service for Mrs. Alamanette Riggs Lampson will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, June 30, 2018, at the Greater Bethel A.M.E. Church with the pastor, the Rev. Deborah Scott, officiating. Burial will be in the Bulloch Memorial Gardens.
    Services have been entrusted to the care of Hill's Mortuary, Inc.
