Mr. James Mitchell “Bubba” Prince
AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Mr. James Mitchell “Bubba” Prince, age 59, died on Tuesday, October 2, 2018, in Wilmington, N.C. The Chatham County native moved to Statesboro in the early 1970s and attended Statesboro High School. He was the owner and operator of several establishments in Statesboro, including Bubba’s Main Event, The Cavalier Club and Bubba’s Bar and Lounge. He was the owner of Prince Brothers Tree Service and Stump Removal. He moved to Augusta in 2009. He was preceded in death by his brother, Wayne Prince. Surviving is his son, Thomas Mitchell (Little Bubba) Prince; his best friend and partner, Vanee Tillman Blanchette; his parents, Thomas Glen and Georgia Prince; two brothers, Tim (Tracey) Prince and Tony (Lynn) Prince; a sister, Shannon Prince; a granddaughter, Charlee Ela Prince; a sister-in-law, Lisa Prince; and his dog, Dixie. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. A visitation will be held on Sunday from 12:30 p.m. until 2 p.m. in the chapel of Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home followed by a funeral service at 2 p.m. with Pastor Tom Osborne officiating. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Statesboro and Bulloch County Humane Society, P.O. Box 581, Statesboro, GA 30459.
