STATESBORO, Ga. -- Mr. Christopher Dale Blanchard, age 66, died Friday, December 7, 2018, at Piedmont Healthcare in Atlanta.
    The native of Moultrie, Georgia, was a 1970 graduate of Moultrie High School. Following high school, Chris attended Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College and Valdosta State College.
    For many years, Chris worked in the garment industry.
    He and his family lived in Statesboro for 25 years.
    Chris worked in the insurance industry for the past 15 years as an agent with R.M. Bush Company in Savannah.
    He loved the outdoors and was an avid sportsman.
    Chris was of the Methodist faith.
    Surviving are his wife of 37 years, Beth Harrison Blanchard of Statesboro; two sons and daughters-in-law, Colby and Megan Blanchard and Tyler and Cree Blanchard, all of Statesboro; two grandchildren, Brooks and Banks Blanchard of Statesboro; his parents, Earl and Helen Blanchard of Moultrie; a sister, Amy Blanchard of Augusta; a brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Debbie Blanchard of Albany; and two brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law, Michael Harrison of Moultrie and Walter and Sandra Harrison of Moultrie. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
    A graveside service and burial will be held on Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Bulloch Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Rick Turner officiating.
    The family will receive visitors following the service in the chapel of Bulloch Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
    A memorial service will be held on Sunday, December 16, 2018, in the chapel of the Moultrie First United Methodist Church at 2 p.m.
    The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Ogeechee Area Hospice, P.O. Box 531, Statesboro, Georgia 30459.
