Kathryn Elaine Hoehn Anderson
Kathryn Elaine Hoehn Anderson, Ph.D., departed this life on October 25, 2018, in Columbus, Ohio.
    Born July 3, 1947, in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, she is preceded in death by her parents, Armond A. and Helen (Lang) Hoehn; grandparents, Gerhard and Theodora (Bremel) Hoehn and Carl P. and Johanna (Kuhlmann) Lang; and partner, John Toles of Bonnyrigg, Scotland.
    She is survived by daughter, Sara (James) Russell of Highlands Ranch, Colorado; and son, David (Jennifer) Anderson of Lake Forest, Illinois; sisters, Deanna (Scott) McBroom and Barbara (Steven) Hillmer; uncles, David (Gloria) Hoehn and Donald (Eileen) Hoehn; five grandchildren, three nieces, two nephews and five great-nieces/nephews.
    Dr. Anderson, Ph.D., ARNP, PMHCNS-BC, LMFT, was an internationally recognized expert in family and psychiatric nursing and presented her research nationally and internationally. She was widely published in peer-reviewed journals and served as a consultant for family nursing practice.
    Currently, Dr. Anderson was a professor of nursing and director of the Center for Nursing Scholarship and Research at the School of Nursing at Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Ga.
    Previously a roster faculty member at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and Florida International University in Miami, Dr. Anderson also taught at the University of Minnesota, the University of Washington and Miami-Dade College in nursing and at the University of Wisconsin-Stout in marriage and family supervision.
    Her family remembers her for a fierce dedication to her family, for her love and support and for her warmth and caring nature.
    A celebration of life service will be held to remember Dr. Kathryn Anderson on January 19, 2019, at 3 p.m. at Providence Baptist Church, 971 Seven Farms Drive, Charleston, S.C.
