Deacon Dewitt Love Jr.
STATESBORO, Ga. -- Deacon Dewitt Love Jr. passed into rest Saturday morning, November 10, 2018, at his residence under the care of Regency Hospice and his loving wife and family.
    The Bulloch County native was the son of the late Dewitt Love Sr. and the late Pinkie Hall Love.
    He received his public education in the Bulloch County School System and was a graduate of the William James Class of 1965.
    He retired from Georgia Southern University in 2006. Afterwards, he became owner of Love’s Painting Company and Love’s Childcare Service, Inc.
    He was a faithful member of the Rehovia Baptist Church, where he served as the chairman of deacons for 17 years.
    In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Mercille Love Mincey.
    He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife of 50 years, Lorine Clifton Love, Statesboro, Ga,; children, Shulay Love (Aulbert) Baldwin and Eric Love, both of Statesboro, Ga.; two granddaughters, A’lyric Love and Raven Love, both of Statesboro, Ga.; a great-granddaughter, Lauryn McGruder, Statesboro, Ga.; a brother, Marvin Love Sr., Statesboro, Ga.; other relatives and friends.
    Deacon Love will lie in state on the day of the service from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour. There will be no viewing after the eulogy.
    The funeral service for Deacon Dewitt Love Jr. will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, November 15, 2018, at the Miller Grove Missionary Baptist Church, the Rev. Harry J. Tremble Jr., pastor, and the Rev. Paul Benton, officiating. Burial will be held in the Bulloch Memorial Gardens.
    Final rites have been entrusted to Hill’s Mortuary, Inc.
