Workshop Day to focus on community services
Statesboro Village Builders event Saturday at City Hall
Community Workshop Day

A "Community Resource Workshop Day" is set for 10 a.m.–2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 1, at Statesboro City Hall.

Hosted by Statesboro Village Builders, the public is invited to attend "an inspiring workshop to spark creativity and make a positive difference in the community," a release from the city of Statesboro stated.

A free lunch will be served and there will be giveaways, raffles and activities for children ages 4 and up.

"The Community Resource Workshop Day offers a unique opportunity for residents to come together for skill development, participate in relevant discussions, access valuable resources, exchange ideas and connect with others on engaging topics," said Dr. LaSara Mitchell, the coordinator for Statesboro Village Builders. "We believe participating in this event will enhance personal and professional skills and contribute to a supportive environment where everyone can learn and grow."

Workshop sessions are designed to cater to a wide range of interests and needs with an overarching theme of personal development. The lineup includes classes on financial literacy, goal setting for 2025, and more.

Those interested in the workshop may register at http://www.statesboroga.gov/villagebuilders.

While childcare will not be provided for babies and toddlers, there will be activities, books and an inflatable for children. Teenagers may sign up for one of the educational sessions.

Statesboro Village Builders was founded in January 2023 by the City of Statesboro's Youth Commission and Mayor Jonathan McCollar in collaboration with community stakeholders.
