Bulloch County sheriff's deputies located Lester Charles Wadley Jr., 28, of Chandler Road, on Veterans Memorial Parkway Thursday afternoon, just minutes after the victim reported finding him in her U.S. Highway 80 West home, Bulloch County Sheriff Lynn Anderson said.

After walking in on the burglary in progress, the woman confronted Wadley, who fled, the sheriff said.

"The complainant was able to provide a detailed description of the suspect and of the vehicle in which he fled ... driving eastbound on Highway 80 West towards Statesboro," Anderson said. "Lt. Bobby Durden and Cpl. Bob Dinello were clearing from an alarm call on Highway 80 West when the call was dispatched. They were able to locate the suspect vehicle on Veterans Memorial Parkway near Williams Road and conduct a felony traffic stop."

The victim positively identified Wadley, Anderson said, and Wadley was transported to the Bulloch County Jail, where he remains without bond pending further judicial action.

He was charged with one count of first-degree burglary, possession of a knife during the commission of a crime and possession of tools for the commission of a crime.
