After a month-long investigation, Statesboro Police Crime Suppression Unit agents arrested two men on marijuana charges, including sale of the drug near Statesboro High School. Statesboro Public Safety Director Wendell Turner said CSU agents executed a search warrant Friday at a Carmel Drive residence, seizing a quantity of marijuana and arresting Lindsay Edward Martin Jr. and Auburn Donald Rigdon, who lived there. Martin, 19, was charged with three counts of sale of marijuana; three counts of sale of marijuana within 1,000 feet of a school; possession of marijuana with intent to distribute; marijuana possession with intent to distribute within 1,000 feet of a school; possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime; and “use of communications facilities to violate provisions prohibited,” meaning he used a telephone or other communication device to aid in the sale and distribution of the marijuana.
