STATESBORO, Ga. -- Trudie Durden Allen, age 67, passed away on Monday morning, May 9, 2018, after a brief illness, at the Eagle Rehabilitation Center.
    She was a native of Bulloch County, joined the Thomas Grove Baptist Church as a youth and was a 1968 graduate of William James High School. She received a licensed practical nursing degree from Swainsboro Technical College and was a former employee of Riggs Nursing Home and Pulaski Nursing Home.
    She is survived by a daughter, Devora L. Allen; and a son, Michael Prince, both of Statesboro; five brothers, Carl (Kathleen) Durden, Vernon Prince, Keith Prince and Michael Prince Sr., all of Statesboro; and Terrance (Nita) Durden, Ayer, Mass.; one aunt, Amy Prince, Miami, Fla.; one uncle, Deacon James (the Rev. Sarah) Prince, Statesboro; her caregiver/first cousin/guardian, Celentria (John) Young, Statesboro; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
    The funeral service for Mrs. Allen will be held on Sunday, May 20, 2018, at the City of David Church, Institute Street, Statesboro, and will lie in state at the City of David from 2 p.m. until the funeral hour.
    Viewing will be Saturday from noon until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
    Arrangements have been entrusted to the very caring, compassionate, capable and professional staff of James R. Barnes Mortuary.
