Prevent Child Abuse Bulloch County is holding its annual back-to-school supply drive, "Stuff the Bus," which asks citizens to help provide school supplies for children in need in the Bulloch County School System.
“It is more vital than ever that we as a community ensure that all students have a successful school year," said Lora Cooper, executive director for Prevent Child Abuse Bulloch County. "By donating school supplies to Stuff the Bus 2008, we all can take part in making this a successful school year."
Participants can donate school supplies at the following locations through Tuesday, July 21: Statesboro Mall, Statesboro Regional Library, Office of Child Support Services, Georgia Southern University (Russell Union and Continuing Education), Ogeechee Technical College, Department of Labor, Ken’s IGA, 180 Fitness, First Baptist Church, First Methodist Church, Primitive Baptist Church, Trinity Episcopal Church and St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Donations can also be made at Wal-Mart July 18-20.
Stuff the Bus 2008 will wrap up Tuesday, at Chick-fil-A from 5 until 8 p.m., where a school bus will be stuffed with the donated school supplies. Everyone who brings school supplies to donate will receive a coupon for a free food item.
Once school supplies are collected, they will be divided and distributed. All school supplies are needed. Monetary donations are also being accepted and will be used to purchase school supplies.
Stuff the Bus began with several families asking the Bulloch County Department of Family and Children Services for assistance with purchasing back to school supplies. For more information on Stuff the Bus 2008 and how you can help, call the PCA Bulloch County office at (912) 764-9462.
