A Statesboro man was killed Sunday evening when he lost control of his motorcycle about three miles north of Stilson.

Georgia State Patrol Senior Trooper T. Sisson said Lavon Wilson, 52, Donaldson Road, was heading south on Ga. 119 Connector in Stilson just after 9 p.m. Sunday when he lost control of his 1992 Yamaha motorcycle on a curve near Hubert Church and Ball Park roads.

Wilson left the roadway and traveled about 168 feet on the shoulder of the road,  and "for unknown reasons" lost control of his bike, overturned several times and was ejected from the motorcycle, he said.

When Bulloch County EMS arrived, emergency medical technicians pronounced Wilson dead at the scene.
