All car seat installations and safety checks will now be forwarded to the Georgia State Patrol Office.

Citing budget issues, the Statesboro Fire Department will discontinue its child car seat installation and safety check program, said Statesboro fire Chief Tim Grams.

"Due to budgetary and personnel staffing constraints, all car seat installations and safety checks will now be forwarded to the Georgia State Patrol Office located at 10723 US-301 South," he said. "To ensure that a certified trooper is available on site, GSP asks that those wishing to have a seat installed or checked make an appointment in advance by calling (912) 688-6999."
