"Hey Statesboro Herald, thank you for telling us the story of the police chief and the fire chief getting fired. Now, why don't you investigate thoroughly and tell us the truth. It is a well known fact around town that one of the city councilman has had it in for the police chief for many years. Please investigate and tell us the truth. Thank you."

"Since the city is so anxious to consolidate and save money, I have a suggestion that I think has merit. Why don't we consolidate the county and city and do away with the city manager, the mayor and the council? That should save a lot of money. That idea will float."

"If Mr. Haynes and the City Council needed $450,000, why didn't they just have A Day for Statesboro like they did A Day for Southern? They raised over a million dollars. Why couldn't we do it that way. No, give it to Georgia Southern and then they'll come back and cut $25,000 out of services and do cable services themselves. What else are they going to want to do themselves and still come back for A Day for Southern. I still bet they raise our property taxes. What do you bet?"

"If we need to close budget shortfalls in our city, let's start with half-million dollar bike tunnels that nobody will ever use and not the livlihood of police and firemen that have served us well for years and possess a vast amount of knowledge in their positions that we all benefit from."
