Otis S. Johnson, mayor of Savannah, visited the Charter Conservatory for Liberal Arts & Technology Tuesday. Johnson spoke to students at the Statesboro school about the reasons the nation celebrates Black History Month. Johnson also encouraged students to take an active part in their community and school government. He stressed the importance of focusing on what we have in common and use those similarities to work for the betterment of the community.
