The Portal Heritage Society invites the public to cool off Saturday with a Water Fun Day.
In partnership with Leap Joy Inflatables, the Water Day activities will begin at 10 a.m. and last until 5 p.m., said Portal Heritage Society President Timothy Cook.
The event, held at 217 Turpentine Drive in Portal, is open to the public, not just Portal residents, he said.
"We (the Portal Heritage Society) are trying to do something fun for the community and hoping for a big turnout," Cook said.
The event also raises funds for the group, which maintains historical sites in the small town, including the E.C. Carter Turpentine Still, an old-time drug store and museum.
The cost for an all-day pass is $10.
