A registered sex offender was arrested after officers found child pornography on his computer, the Bulloch County Sheriff's Office said Tuesday.
Deputies, probation officers and U.S. marshals conducted a sex offender compliance check Monday at an apartment in the 200 block of Courtney Way in Statesboro, the registered address of John Dennis Baillie, 33, according to a sheriff's office news release.
Baillie was convicted of child molestation in Gwinnett County in 2001. He consented to a search of his computers and thumb drives, which revealed evidence of child pornography, the release says.
Search warrants were issued for the computers and thumb drives, and they were seized for forensic analysis. Baillie was arrested and taken to the Bulloch County Jail, where he is being held without bond on charges of sexual exploitation of children, sexual exploitation of children via computer and probation violation.
