Milly (2009 submission)

If you think your pet has a flair for talent, perhaps you should enter your favorite in the second annual Pet Idol contest going on now at statesboroherald.com.  This contest will determine whose pet has STAR quality!

According to Julie Foley, regional online marketing director for Morris Multimedia, last year’s contest was a real winner.  “It was our most successful promotion last year in visitor traffic on the website,” she said.  “You just post your pet’s photos on the website and then keep voting for your favorite.  You can vote up to five times per day every day during the voting period.  It’s easy and a lot of fun!”

Pet pictures can be posted anytime between now and Thursday, February 12, 2009.  The voting period will be February 13-26, 2009 on Statesboroherald.com.  Once voting has started entries will no longer be accepted.

Pet categories to choose from are Medium/Large Dogs, Small Dogs, Puppies, Cats, Kittens and other pets (any kind).  Prizes will be awarded to contestants with the highest scores in their categories. The pet with the highest number of overall votes will win the “Best in Show” grand prize provided by Pets and People of Statesboro.

"Best of Breed” sponsors will provide $50 gift certificates. “Best All-Around" sponsors will award $25 gift certificates for honorable mention pets at judge’s discretion.

All Pet Idol winners and the prizes they won will be displayed on the website after voting has ended.  As a condition of entering the contest, contestants and their owners agree to accept the decision of the judges as final.
