Online charter school accepting new students

Georgia Connections Academy, a statewide online K-12 charter school, has opened enrollment for the 2014-2015 school year and will conduct in-person information sessions with parents and students across the state.

One of those, called "Parent-to-Parent," is scheduled for 11 a.m. to noon Saturday at Panera Bread, 810 Buckhead Drive. An online information session is scheduled for 6:30-7:30 p.m. Monday at

"We are enrolling 1,000 additional students across all grade levels for the coming academic year," said Lead Principal Heather J. Robinson. "We have a waiting list as we open enrollment, so we encourage parents to get their applications in now."

Enrollment topped 3,000 students at Georgia Connections Academy for the 2013-2014 year. Parents can enroll their children online at:

The information sessions review the school's curriculum, programs and provide opportunities to ask questions of teachers and currently enrolled families.
