A Roundtree Street man is behind bars at the Bulloch County Jail after his arrest for aggravated assault with a bicycle chain and lock.
Bulloch County Sheriff's Deputy Paiboon E. Grumbar responded to a call about a fight and met with the victim in the Ogeechee Technical College parking lot, according to reports.
The victim told Grumbar he was "Walking home from the college along Langston Chapel Road at the intersection of Joe Kennedy Boulevard" when he noticed Watson Edward Chance of Roundtree Street riding a bicycle on the wrong side of the road.
The victim told Chance "it would be safer riding with traffic," Grumbar stated.
This apparently angered Chance, who turned his bicycle around and began a verbal altercation with the victim.
The two "exchanged words," and the victim turned to walk away when he saw Chance "charge at him swinging a chain with a lock on it," he said.
Chance struck the victim in the neck with the chain, leaving a visible injury, according to reports.
Grumbar located Chance on campus and arrested him, charging him with aggravated assault. He included photos of the victim's injury in reports.
Chance was taken to the Bulloch County Jail where he later posted bond, according to jail records.
