A 63-year-old man was arrested on charges he molested two children, the Bulloch County Sheriff's Office said Tuesday.
According to a news release, Luis Juan Figueroa, of Barn Mobile Home Park in Statesboro, molested two children, ages 4 and 8. Figueroa is the father of the children's babysitter.
The abuse reportedly took place in a Bird Road home. Figueroa was arrested after sheriff's investigators conducted forensic interviews with the children and other witnesses, and then with Figueroa himself, the release says.
Figueroa is being held without bond in the Bulloch County Jail on two counts each of child molestation and sexual battery. Authorities also think Figueroa is an illegal immigrant, and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has been notified.
